PROTECTIVE COATINGS

Protective coatings, also known as intumescent coatings, are specialist paints used to create barriers against fire, water, rust, mould, mildew and other harmful or destructive elements. They are generally considered necessity coatings and are not intended to be decorative like most other paints.

We can protect a wide variety of surfaces that need specialised coatings for protective purposes. In many cases, adding a protective coating is a much cheaper option than replacing, relining or rebuilding a wall, roof or other structure.

FIRE RETARDANT PAINTS

Fire retardant paints release gas or chemicals when exposed to fire that deprive flames of fuel. The paint does not burn, so it doesn’t provide another fuel source for flames. These paints add another level of safety where fire is a risk.

MOULD AND MILDEW

Moss, mould and mildew treatments can be applied to surfaces such as roofs, decks or other areas prone to buildups. We can apply them easily for long-term protection against mould and mildew.

WATER PROTECTION

Water protection can be applied to floors, walls or any other surface that gets exposed to water. There are also coatings that create barriers against seawater and for anything permanently submerged in water, such as pools.

ASBESTOS PROTECTION

Asbestos can be encapsulated with rubber to create a safe barrier which locks the asbestos in place. This is a much cheaper, faster and safer option than pulling up or removing asbestos.
